This year’s spring excursion will take us to the Danube metropolis of Vienna. In the federal capital, we will visit Wiener Linien, the city’s public transport operator. Among other things, we will visit the control centre, the Erdberg depot and find out about the new platform doors in preparation for fully automatic underground trains – let us surprise you with other highlights! A day trip will take us to St. Pölten. The Mariazell Railway wants to show us how a historic narrow-gauge line can be operated as part of the public transport system. At the Alpenbahnhof, we will learn about the operation of the Mariazell Railway and visit the workshop for nostalgic vehicles. Finally, we visit the Remise in Vienna, the transport museum of Wiener Linien. (Planning status as of 5 March 2025 – changes are possible.)
Travel period: 2 to 5 April 2025
The maximum participation fee is 200 Euros, our target is 170 Euros. The price of the trip depends on the number of participants. The price includes three nights’ accommodation in Vienna, travel to and from the event and tickets to and from St. Pölten. Please do not tranfer the participation fee until you receive a confirmation of participation and a request for payment with the exact price from us.
